1 Our commitment

We want as many people as possible to be able to use Neuraplex, including people with disabilities and different access needs. Neuraplex is provided and operated by Neurodevelopmental Services Limited (“we”, “us” or “our”).

Accessibility matters especially in neurodevelopmental services. Staff, patients and families may have a wide range of communication, sensory, cognitive, visual, motor and other needs. We consider accessibility throughout the design, development and improvement of Neuraplex.

2 What this statement covers

This statement applies to the Neuraplex platform, including Trial and User Acceptance Testing (“UAT”) environments and any parts of Neuraplex used by parents, carers or young people.

3 Our standard and current status

We design and build Neuraplex to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

Neuraplex has not yet had a formal accessibility audit. Until it has, we do not claim that every part of the platform fully meets WCAG 2.2 AA.

We plan to carry out a formal WCAG 2.2 AA audit and will update this statement with the results, including any parts that do not yet meet the standard.

4 How we design for accessibility

We aim to make Neuraplex:

  • clear and consistent to navigate;
  • easy to understand in its layout and wording;
  • usable with a keyboard alone;
  • compatible with common browser accessibility features and assistive technologies;
  • readable when text is enlarged or the browser is zoomed;
  • built with proper headings, labels and form controls;
  • designed with sufficient colour contrast;
  • clear without relying on colour alone to show important information;
  • clear when showing errors, warnings and actions you need to take; and
  • usable on desktop and mobile screen sizes where supported.

5 Neurodiversity and cognitive accessibility

Neuraplex is built for neurodevelopmental services, so we know accessibility goes beyond physical and sensory needs. We aim to support cognitive accessibility through:

  • clear, concise language;
  • predictable navigation and consistent page layouts;
  • clearly labelled actions;
  • breaking longer tasks into manageable steps;
  • clear instructions and error messages; and
  • avoiding unnecessary complexity and visual or information overload.

We will keep reviewing these through user feedback and accessibility testing.

6 Trial and UAT environments

Some Neuraplex functions are first released in Trial or UAT environments, where they may still be tested or refined. Some elements may not yet meet our accessibility standard.

Feedback from UAT users is especially valuable, because it helps us find and fix barriers before wider use.

7 Known accessibility issues

Because Neuraplex has not yet had a formal audit, we cannot yet publish a full list of issues. We will list significant known issues here as we identify them, with what we are doing about each one.

If we find a problem we cannot fix straight away, we will look for another way to give you the information or complete the task.

8 Reporting an accessibility problem

If you have difficulty using any part of Neuraplex, please tell us. It helps if you can include:

  • which part of Neuraplex you were trying to use;
  • what went wrong;
  • the device and browser you were using, if you know;
  • whether you were using assistive technology; and
  • what adjustment or alternative format would help.

Please do not include patient or service-user information in your report unless we have told you it is needed and safe to share.

We will respond within 4 weeks. If the problem stops you doing something urgent, such as clinical work, please say so and we will prioritise it.

9 Requesting support or an alternative

If an accessibility problem stops you getting information or completing a task, contact us. While we investigate, we will consider reasonable alternative ways to give you the information or support you need.

10 If you use Neuraplex through a healthcare service

If you are a patient, parent or carer using Neuraplex through a healthcare organisation, you can also contact that organisation. It is responsible for making reasonable adjustments to its own service and can help you while we look at the problem.

12 Continuous improvement

Accessibility is ongoing work. As Neuraplex develops, we will take account of:

  • accessibility testing and audit results;
  • relevant standards and guidance;
  • feedback from users and healthcare organisations;
  • the experience of people with different access needs; and
  • changes to Neuraplex’s functions and design.

Significant accessibility issues are prioritised within our development process.

13 Review of this statement

This statement was prepared in October 2026. We will review it at least once a year, after each formal accessibility audit, and when Neuraplex changes significantly. The date of the latest version is shown at the top.
